More from The Vault of Forgotten Cartoons: Pencils of a panel from The Nit-Picnic, a four-page story written by Robert Carspecken and drawn by your friendly, neighborhood kangaroo kartoonist. I always liked the roughs for this particular panel.

The story was to have been published in SFA's Magic Carpet, but was dropped for, um, "technical reasons."

Technical? I thought they were having problems finding the younger audience that title was meant for.

That issue of Magic Carpet was indeed published. But while "The Nit-Picnic" was received prior to publication, I was later told that they "forgot about it."
