I recently got these cool scales in. They're made of clear polycarbonate plastic. This was the first thing I made with them to see how they looked when put together.

I think they give an interesting effect. They let you see the workings of the chainmail weave below the scales, which is cool. But they're also kind of hard to see themselves, which is odd. I do look forward to coming up with cool uses of them. Maybe something involving lights...

Oh, and the fact that The Ring Lord just started making these has also prompted me to finally laser-cut some wooden scales. I'll post those up tomorrow once I have a chance to edit the photos.
