I can't help it,
I get to really have fun drawing her.
I Think a lot of others do to....
sadly I don't like the "sexy" Samus images.
I want her to look like a very generic tough hard
working girl....
that really adds to the sexiness... at least for me.
unless this statement has been buried so deep that it's
made it to hell and back but ... I really disliked other M...
if the last frame of that game was her taking off her suit like a
strip tees and then shaking her bare tits in the camera while
giving kissy faces and winking... That would've been less
misogynistic to the character then the whole game did to her...
another thing I wanted to mention is...
Samus suit is made completely of energy.
not to mention when she is in a morph ball she also becomes energy
within the ball (if you go by Prime series logic),
also,
and not to side with other M but.....there is a scene where she is not
wearing the suit and she is an average female height, when morphing
the suit on shes about 7 foot tall... would this also imply that her joints
are also elongating?
so that would also
imply that samus could never be hurt by anything that is not an energy
weapon set at a much higher vibration similar to the way you have to
hurt the borg on Star Trek. my guess to why the Chozo race never survived
was because they're not fucking that often and they all just got old and tired and decided we can live out the rest of our days through this human girl who we
can help to defend our name throughout space.
I love this concept because it really allows her to be more alien.
and that's one reason her universe is the most fascinating.
Mass Effect has the political aspect of space,
Halo has the military
Metroid has everything else that is really hard to explain
and really has the potential to explore.
and even if they make 10 other shitty metroid games
my faith in this character or her origins can not be tainted
because the thought is already there and she can go in
sOOOOOOO many different directions with her story and exploration.
she is one of the prime games that defined exploration...
well that and the first Zelda....but those games are like brother and sister...
who are both androgynous by titles.
anywho,
I could talk forever about Metroid and hopefully I'll one day get the
chance to and maybe do a little more if God is willing to allow it.
hope you guys dig.

I love Samus. I love this take on Samus. I love the fact that people forget she was raised by aliens, on a different planet, and thus she would have superior reflexes, agility, and mental capacity. I mean, hyper advanced aliens trained the heck out of her.
So Yeah, she can take on an entire planet of scum and leave alive. (Super Metroid)
But she can't wear a suit to protect her body from extreme heat unless she's given an order to do so?
Maaaan, fuck other M.

actually,
you can even argue that the original NES metroid
suit was made of energy simply because of the little
glowing thing she does before the suit comes off of her.
I know the first game is up for anything logically but that
plays cannon to the whole series.
and her being raised by Chozos was actually more of a fan fic
comic printed in Nintendo Power that stayed true to the series.
considering someone just came up with that out of no where
and left it in is really amazing.

I like fusion, but I look at it as the plot I originally thought it was but was totally wrong
about...
Samus was cloned and her clone went on a whole other mission through the fusion
game while the original Samus went through the prime series.
in fact, when fusion starts it actually calls itself "Metroid 4: fusion"
but both games came out the same year so......clone.....
also explains why the fusion suit can be worn in the prime game....right?

The fusion suit in prime was an easter egg. It is never referenced in the game, and I think you have to beat fusion and link up with the gamecube to unlock it. The Prime series took place between Metroid one and two I think...
Looking back at fusion, there were hints of the problems to come in Other M. The elevator scenes describing things we just happened, Adam being a misogynistic bastard. Samus's "reverence" for Sakamoto's Self Insert character. Those text monologues that Samus gave, when I read them now, I can't not read them in her terrible monotone.

I like to think of her suit something more in this vein http://i.imgur.com/B7Bg2.jpg
Im in agreement on the skimpy factor of the zero suit though I can see a practical excuse in the form of the armor having less than stellar environmental controls.

I use to think that when i was younger,
had more of the Iron Man approach to the suit.
which is cool as far as moving parts go.
but really kinda leaves out how it is that the suit
itself can "heal" without any real maintenance other then
acquiring energy pellets.
I like to think of it similar to the transformers,
an "everything technology" that really can mimic
every other form of technology for her convenience.
she picks up random bits of up-grades despite what race
of interstellar species has created it and can somehow
connect that to her suit... that's amazing, not even iron
man has done that yet.

I have a ton more ideas,
given her even more gruff of a look.
yea,
I always go back to the first metroid,
to me that's the one that could build
on a story that can go anywhere,
especially since the story that was
provided in the instruction manual
was a complete lie, I love that.
it makes her background even more of
a mystery.

the jumpsuit and the bushy hair.
she originally was Ripley, that's why
shes brown hair in the first metroid
and blonde in all the others.
but, yea, I still like seeing her kind of
gruff and more boss like then a pretty girl,
but don't get me wrong she could still
pull off pretty and gruff at the same time.
