When Nightcap was young, his magic was stronger at nights. Though, he never questioned. He could lift heavy things with his unicorn magic...far more than most others.

He didn't receive his cutey mark until older. This is depicted shortly after, for, he could see the dreams of his friends after he got his cutey mark and was concerned he may run afoul in those dreams and give someone a nightmare. So, as Luna knows how to enter dreams, he has sought her out for guidance and tutelage.

In a trance, she guides him through new paths! For if Celestia can have a pupil, it is fair that Luna teach some night owls some new tricks too!
