Oddly enough, this one was:
"Here's the character drawn previously, I'll point out the three important things - the visor, the cargo shorts, and the shell necklace. Draw him in your style otherwise. Scene? He'll be doing something he normally does (Which involves baking pies, making smoothies, swimming, grilling/cooking, or sometimes just a pinup pose).
In this case, it was "Here's the design. Um, doing something? Making a smoothie/shake with a blender I guess."
In my opinion, interesting commissions flow from from good character design. An artist should be able to take what you give them and make something awesome :3
