I disagree. Plush toys are just for profit. When places like hot topic start selling t-shirts andsweaters of lion king then all the shitty emo kids are like "omggg that's my fav moovie evr. I kused to watch it all the teim wen life was good and I was happy...." lol its like what they did to bat man. Every teeny girl with teased hair is obsessed with batman yet has never read a single comic. That's mainstream. Making action figures of batman-especially when the comics first camme out didn't make it mainstream...infact! Mainstream wasn't even a word back then xD people said they liked stuff because they ACTUALLY liked it. Not cus it somehow made them "cool" or what ever lol

So its bad for a whole lot of people to like a certain thing? Whats so bad about things being mainstream? I mean, they get more money by being mainstream, therefore, more products get made so people can purchase. Also not all emo kids are shitty. =/ I had several 'emo' friends in highschool and they were rather awesome xD lot better than the preppy people I used to hate while growing up lols.
I don't get why people get angry when something becomes mainstream. like 'oh they are sell outs now cuz they r mainstream' mainstream means more money. So what if lots of people like something because its mainstream....thats the point of being mainstream XD to get more fans/popularity.

I know, i hungout with all the "emo" kids too, in growing up i realized how obnoxious they are( not just them, but all teens xD) i guess i agree, but for someone who really does LOVE that movie, and it really has a special place in my life (it got me into art, and that means alot to me) its annoying when people are like "OH MA GURDDDD LION KINGGG ARNT I SO K0000ooooOOOL WITH MY LOIN KNIG SHRRRT" and im just like, do you even know the names of the characters?
Again its the same with the batman thing- my bf got into drawing comic type stuff by reading and appreciateing the art of all the old marvel and dc comics. Now people come into the studio all the time and get batman tattoos and wear batman plugs and belts and its just like "I LURVE BATMAN, I SAW THE DARK NITE RISES ONCE"
Lol idk!! I just hate people. So the things they do annoy me xD except furries...for the most part... Their cool!

ohhhhh I see :3 I totally understand that XD i was a fan of batman and spiderman ever since I was a little kid. I can thank my brother for that because he had the comic books >:3 So I knew the characters before the movies came out ^_^ I was like 'omg yay!' every time of course bahaha. Like now I'm excited for the second The Amazing Spiderman movie hehehe. I LOVE Spiderman XD and BatMan is another favorite to, but I know most of the bad guys and what not in that er..realm. Hell a few years ago for halloween I was Harley Quinn >:3
Know whats the worst? At least in lion king fandom and dealing with non fans. Even if say Im drawing my fursona, or someone else's lion character, they're all 'lol is that scar? is that simba?' XD Like ...really? Does this character LOOK like simba or scar? NO. XD that used to piss me off so much when I was younger lol!
