Okay, so it's finally here; or at least page 1 is.
The "Rat King" is an old concept for an incomplete character I had about a decade ago that rides along the same lines of my "Pashmenia" concept. It doesn't have a set model or color scheme yet, so this is somewhat of a temporary version. But who knows, I might end up sticking with it.

Checked my phone, saw this, went to my computer.
P-Pash, dear lord man. I see the time, the effort, the passion, drive, skill and energy that went into this comic. I knew what I was waiting for was going to blow my mind, and I wasn't wrong. Your art is astounding and growing all the, but to see this.. masterpiece, and to think it's part one. My god, I'm so friggin' ecstatic your finally doing a comic.
Anywho, let's write about the comic! Your really made each panel so amazing highly detailed! Literally everyone my eyes go, I see detail. Every nook and cranny has some form of depth to it. I see wear on the door, the metal lock rusting, the lively colors to the blocks. Everything is top notch here. Especially the detailing on Pash itself. The feathers look so well made, it's the perfect amount of detail on them. Also the panels where it's feather hands are showing, it's pulled off sooo well! I didn't even notice at first how well they looked it just blended so well to the character. The line detail on the hand in that second panel man, that looked incredibly difficult to make. All those I guess 'bone and muscle' lines make that feather hand look just so much more real and as though they have weight to them. I notice Pash is really liking that 'P' block, I was trying to look for a message on the second panel, trying to decode the "P,T,L" letters into some kind of sentence.
Really cool idea on the third panel. Seeing through Baxter's perspective. Not going to lie, Pash does look rather approachable in the panel. I mean, it's just a cute(po) bird thing playing with some blocks in a room. Wait- I noticed the lock is on the outside of the room, I believe this could indicate some type of foreshadowing. Or not, I'm guessing. Also no door kno- Once again, astounding work on drawing Pash here. You really pulled the crossed leg sit well. I keep imagining it isn't playing with the blocks anymore, it's just fascinated by that one.
I only believe this because in panel five I see still looking intently at that one. So much that Pash is ignoring the fact that Baxter is right there talking to it. I also noticed that the block outline for the 'P' is brown, coincidence. Pash is looking rather angrier the longer he looks at it. At this point I should say that the way you decided to draw Baxter is really, really unique. I'm going to assume Baxter is also gender-less here. Baxter doesn't seem as down as Pash, I mean it looks rather well kept, it had a need to explore the house, and it's trying to make new friends with the totally friendly Pashmenia. Also assuming by it's posture in panel five I'm guessing it's also a nice character, meaning and capable of doing no harm to anyone or thing. Baxter also seems quite forward about meeting new people seeing how it grabs Pash on the last panel! (Also seemingly pulling Pash backwards, possibly a small shake) Great job on the mussel lines for Baxter too, never once did I have to look back because some irregularity.
Panel six is by far my favorite. You've mentioned to me what those pupils meant to me before, and shite does Pash have that hardcore right now. It's such a hard look, you can actually see Pash's eye vanes. The curve at the top tells me that Pash is really surprised at I'm guessing two thing : one, that another creature exists here or that it actually grabbed it's shoulder without hesitation. Or two, Pash was ignoring Baxter so hardcore that it didn't even notice until it felt said touch. And wow, is Pash really stirred by this. Pash (or I) can't tell if it's super excited or super surprised, maybe both. I'm not sure if it's just shading, but Pash seems to be getting a black aura around it's head in this panel. Oh wow, the shading too! Fantastic job on that too, seriously, they are put so well in where they are needed that the depth in this just get much greater. Again, going back to the hand on panel two, the way you figured out how much darkness you needed to add to the hand and where is astounding. I really like that hand, you did it so well.
All I know is that this truly, is that this was a fantastic start to and epic comic, a mysterious tale, an intriguing short. With two wonderfully designed and unique characters to take us through it all. Sure the setting is rather small, but hey if I didn't even notice that until I looked into that, then there is no problem whatsoever. I never say this because I find it rude to do so but : I can't wait to see more, this was amazing. Truly deserving of a medal, no- respect.

I'd stop here but since this comic looks like it took a while because a certain bird told me so, I figure I go into a bit more things, I apologize if my horredusly long comment was already huge, I just have to get these thoughts out of the way. No reason to keep my thoughts to myself when they are meant for you, the creator.
For the blocks, if they the other two blocks were 'H' and 'M', I would've guessed combined with the 'P', a secret message would've been decoded as "Please help me." I'm trying my hardest to think of what 'P,T,L' could signify if anything. OH! "Pashmenia, the lonely" "Pashmenia the lost" "Put to limbo(invincible but stuck, oh hey AM)" and "Please Take (my) Life (so I can be free)"
The small block house in panel one, it isn't finished. I'm also trying to get some sort of symbolism out of it. My best look into it is the little block on top of the door structure. The top block is round on the top, yet somehow the cylinder above that block isn't falling, but rather is in perfect balance. Maybe it is about how time is still in the house, that you cannot leave. Your life that is always in need of balance (cylinder) cannot fall into heaven (yellow block) or hell (red block) after the balance is gone (death)? I'm just trying to get as much as I can.
Last thing, Baxter. I think this a really good character to play off of if Pash doesn't accidentally kill it in the proccess, although i'm guessing Baxter is too plot important to kill off so soon in the comic, or story in general. I can see Baxter as a good person. As well as a bit shy, not knowing what to say or being hesitant to speak. In panel five I keep seeing Baxter approach Pash every time it goes "Umm". Like Baxter is wonder if Pash is even hearing, possibly why it went and grabbed Pash. I'm guessing with the minimal lore that I know that Baxter will not enjoy what it will be getting a dose of in the coming pages. I actually wonder if there will be any character that likes Pash's insanity, an equal whom is still different but at the same time can enjoy each other's company.
UGH! One last thing, I noticed "Baxter" said it's name is that. This leads me to believe it was given or much more likely gave itself that name. This then makes me wonder is Pashmenia decided to give itself that name. Did Pash read the bible and put two and two together, or did it really dig scarfs? I'm sure all this will be explained and I'm sure I've gone on for far, far too long. By the time I'm done writing this I bet a flood of views will have been dropped. I can't wait to see for myself!
Great comic again, I really liked it a lot!

My gosh so many typos, I hope you can see through those and pardon me for that Pash. I was just so amazing I was typing faster then Harlan Ellison because I needed to get my thoughts down before they left my horrid short term memory. This comic will mostly defiantly be remembered for a very long time.
Sorry for the late reply, but yeah the detailing on this was a total back-breaker, but it was worth it being finished the way I wanted it.
When I was still drawing this I had about 18 layers going. #18 was the outline, #1 was the WIP. All in between was different shading and detailing. If I still had SB Express I would have like zero chance at surviving this, lol. The "PTL" doesn't really have any significance other than just being random block letters, but the 'P' itself does.
I like to imagine that Pash is in it's on little world, or just in really deep thought. That is up until physical contact snaps him out of it and catches him by surprise. And yeah, Baxter is suppose to be a nice and friendly character just trying to see who's around and hoping to make friends with. (I hope Baxter isn't a corny name) In my ref sheet description I mentioned "There's plenty of hope for those who can spare", that was mainly talking about 'The Rat King' character.
Yeah I wanted that stare to be really striking, like a mixture of that disorientated and frightened look. The black aura was just my mistake of over shading, but it actually looks kind of fitting for that specific panel.
___
Again, the block lettering didn't have any significance / except for the one Pash is looking at. Good ideas though.
The small block house was intended to add that extra 'child-like' subtlety in the mix as well as show a little 'intuitive-ness' with trying to make them balance.
And I won't say much about Baxter's time-line, just so I wont spoil anything. Although the question still remains on how he'll react from whats coming next.
I like the idea of the creatures naming themselves, because if they were named by something else then it would be sort of confusing.
Thanks for being so expressive about your opinions on this. To read such a massive comment full of ideas was really outstanding! I'm more than happy you see so much potention in my drawings and I hope the rest of these upcoming pages will prove better than the last.

So, I came back to look at this page again because just one look wasn't enough to fully enjoy this masterpiece. Then I looked at my comment and thought to myself "Christ that's long", but I also noticed I wrote this :
"Truly deserving of a medal, no- respect."
I'm sure you know this already but I just have to clarify. I mean you do deserve respect, it's kind of hard to tell. I was going for a 'catching myself halfway through a sentence' kind of deal. Sorry, but I just wanted to make sure I didn't sound rude. While I'm at it this was bugging me too:
'You've mentioned to me what those pupils are meant to convey before'
