I think I've claimed the first Bravely Default related story here on FA! :D
So yeah, I've been playing Bravely Default quite a bit as of late and I obtained the ranger job class, which is fantastic! Pic Here! So yeah, thought of this little story for it. :3
Receiving a new asterisk is usually a good thing, unless it so happens to possess a demon's soul inside...
I hope you all enjoy, I would love to hear your guys' thoughts! ^^
Tiz and the others panted as their opponent fell to the ground having fought for an hour; the foursome sighed in relief and grinned at one another as from their opponent’s body a small crystal arose, the asterisk to be exact. None of them exactly knew where the pieces of power arose from, but they did know that when they received them that they granted the four a new ensemble of clothing along with new battle prowess.
“Well that was troublesome,” Ringabel said as he rubbed off his thief clothing.
“Don’t you complain, Ringabel,” Edea snapped as she popped her neck, “you kept on using potions on yourself; why don’t you spread the love?” Ringabel’s face snapped into a wide grin at her wording causing Edea’s face to go sheet white. “You know what… disregard that last statement.”
Agnes sniffed as she watched the two’s antics. “Unacceptable… I can’t believe that those two would act in such a serious manner after such a long battle…”
Chuckling to himself, Tiz set his hand on her shoulder. “Agnes, you can light up. We beat her, and now we have the Ranger asterisk. Should we really be so uptight after that?” Agnes noticed Tiz’s bright smile and found herself unable to stay in such a glum mood.
“You’re right… I’m just anxious to find Olivia,” she confessed.
“We’ll find her, I can promise you that Agnes. But until then let’s relax!” Tiz said in an excited tone, and Agnes had no choice but to accept the man’s offer.
“Alright,” she said before turning towards Edea and Ringabel who were in the middle of an argument, “will you two please cut it out?”
The two stopped in their tracks and blushed in embarrassment. “Sorry…” they murmured before slumping back towards the pair. “So what shall we do now that we’ve obtained this new asterisk?” Ringabel asked as he looked at the little jewel.
They each looked at one another; having stayed as their current jobs for so long it was a bit sudden to change up their ways, but Tiz couldn’t deny the lure of the new job. “I’ll try it out when we get back to Florem.” The other three nodded in agreement, as none of them could help but be excited at seeing the new abilities that Tiz would show.
After each of the battles earning them the asterisks from their enemies they found that their own capabilities with the pieces were different, but all the same powerful. Tiz seemed to like a wide variety of powers while Agnes herself showed a high capability with magic based jobs. Edea being an Ex-Sky Knight was adept with any sort of class that had to do with swords, and Ringabel found himself enjoying being a thief, having stolen many a woman’s heart it was only natural. “So, shall we go then?” Edea asked, ready to leave the death filled woods.
“Yes,” they all agreed.

Tiz sat alone as the rest of the party was off. Agnes was talking to the Matriarch, Edea was off buying supplies for their future trip, and Ringabel was presumably finding some girl to make her swoon for him. Tiz was ready to try out his new asterisk, and so he rose it above his head and felt its warmth surround him… and then Tiz flinched in pain as something else passed into him through it.
“Ah, good. I’ve found a perfect vessel,” a cold voice whispered in Tiz’s ear. Tiz’s clothes had indeed changed, but in actuality they were all gone and in place of his clothes was that of a demon wolf. He looked human in body structure, but his body was covered in gray fur like that of a wolf and his hands were clawed.
“What is this?!” the young man shouted, panic pushing his chest in tight.
The voice chuckled in his head filling Tiz with an odd comfort as the voice grew louder in his head. “I am a pure form of what it is to be feral, as you know my last wearer was quite feral in her own right, but she never could harness my power. But as I transferred into you I felt the capability to finally spread my true power, and so you are now as I was.”
Tiz felt his muscles ripple as he strode towards a mirror, with his heart thumping painfully in his chest he looked into it and gasped. His eyes were a gleaming red sending chills down the man’s back. As he looked over the cruel face that his had become the voice whispered quiet words into his mind. “Truly you are the most handsome beast that I’ve seen in many century; none such as you surely exist. I once appeared as you do, but I was slain and shoved into that evil gem my power forced to help those who could wield it, but none could truly wield my power… until you.”
A satisfied smirk spread across Tiz’s face, and the wolf in the mirror did so as well. He couldn’t believe that the words would impress him so much as they did, and now he was starting to see the true power of what he had become. “Truly, I am handsome are I not?”
“Indeed, so handsome and evil you are. You could join the enemy army and become their king I’m sure.”
Any time before the idea would be repulsive to the young man, but now as the demon’s corruptive influence sunk its claws into Tiz he found it most appealing. “Yes… I could become their king, and show them the true power of what it is to be beast.”
“Yes,” the voice whispered seductively, “truly they would be delighted to have such a magnificent and evil king…”
The word evil was so sweet to Tiz that he found himself basking in the word, and how it applied to him. “Yes…. King Tiz.”
“No, Tiz is a weak name.”
A growl escaped Tiz’s jaw, he didn’t care for being called weak. “Then what?!”
“Telok, the evil,” the voice fed.
The name clicked with the newly changed man, and so well did it fit that his old name slipped away like that of a dew drop on a leaf. “Yes… yes, Telok the Evil!” Telok’s voice rose in volume becoming almost roarlike. Across town people started to look towards the inn some of which recognized the voice.
The asterisk that had held the form of a Ranger shattered as the true force of the evil held within flooded into Telok, and the man’s humanity and sense of justice vanished under the dark cloak. The demon’s body grew to inhumane proportions and grinned with malice. “I believe that it’s time to go visit my old enemies. I think they wouldn’t mind a new monarchy…”
“Indeed…” the old demon’s voice whispered, now a permanent fixture in the larger demon’s head, and Telok didn’t mind too much. After all, every great king needed a good advisor.
As the trio of heroes ran into the room they watched in terror as a demon locked them all in place with a deadly stare. “My old friends, we shall meet once more soon. Then I shall unlock your potentials as well,” he growled before leaping out the window.
The trio shook with fear as they realized what their friend had become, and what was in store for them.

I have played the demo version of bravely default and must say this story was brilliant. Would make for a excellent plot twist and additional sidequest to purge the evil asterisk from Tiz.
i'm a little disappointed because of the cliffhanger at the end, but thats normal for someone who got really invested into your story :3
I hope theres more in store sincerely Your fan Alex.
