Another concept for my fantasy universe.
The Iddek Council is faction of the Sarvolk, devoted to the organization and preservation of Sarvolk lands. This is an image of a typical Iddek sergeant; their equipment consists of a sleeveless buffcoat over a blue surcoat, maille shirt and leggings, a wide-brimmed helmet with horsehair plume, and leather footwraps. They favor messer swords, glaives and pikes. The Iddek army is the most organized of the beast-men, with capable heavy infantry, cavalry and naval units, but they lack good archers and light units except for some non-Sarvolk auxiliaries.
The Iddek language is rooted in "old-speak," which was common in all parts of the continent in ancient times, before various races and tribes began to distance themselves from one another. Iddek language was formalized a few hundred years after the Sarvolk migrated to the eastern coast. It was the first phonetic written language on the continent. In our Latin alphabet, the word Iddek could roughly be represented as YRRIX; the symbol on the flag here being the first letter.
