It's That Time Again.
Lantien is one of 12 Oriental fairy sisters. Every 12th year she "changes" to become the symbol from the Chinese zodiac when she was born. In this case, she's becoming a centaur to symbolize the "Year of the Horse".

While "honored" to be the lucky symbol for the year, Lantien is not overly enthusiastic about having a horse sized bum for a whole year. Still, she considers it an improvement after getting to be an anthropomorphic horse the last time.
