Dad wrote a song about the "Devil's Tramping Ground", and he waited until he was getting over a hellacious cold to record it. He wanted a really froggy voice for an eerie subject.

Sometimes my throat gets all gurgly after I drink orange juice in the morning. It only lasts for a few syllables before clearing up, but I can usually sing the first stanza of "Frankie and Johnny" like an old blues man.
