I could not post this until now :). Cover art for I was privileged to do for a literary anthropomorphic themed magazine called Renard's Menagerie. You may visit the site to find out more about the magazine at: http://www.renardsmenagerie.com/
The cover imagery is meant to depict one of the stories from the issue.
Well this was a challenge in more ways than one. I don't typically paint people for one..and of course wolves aren't something often seen from me as well but overall I really enjoyed painting this piece and learning as I went along. Some stock photos were also used to mesh with the painted elements. I have been leery of using stock photos in combination with painted elements as I still have mixed feelings on the matter...but even that in itself turned out to be a learning experience. I also worked smaller than I usually do for such paintings.
Size: 10x6.5" at 300 dpi
Tools: photoshop & graphics tablet
Time: ? Can't really say
Prints: 8x10 available through my, 10$ plus S&H, pm or e-mail me if interested
Critique: I welcome constructive criticism but I am also fully aware of the flaws in this piece..as I have been sitting on it for over a year now!

This piece irradiates with how much effort and passion you put into it. The soulful eyes of the girl, and the protective glare of the wolf. Alot of emotion and heart, it's a very beautiful masterpiece. If i have some money in the future, I will surely note you about purchasing a print :) This would compliment my home framed on the living room wall.
Beautiful alone does not fully detail the qualities in this piece. My word no... there is so much depth and stunning beauty to this piece it deserves so much more. It is a surreal creation of visual arts. I mean, just look at the depth and detail put into the fur and hair alone. The fur has texture, thickness, and depth. It's as if you could reach in and get a handful. I look at it and can almost already imagine how it would feel. Also those gorgeous eyes of that wolfs there. They are so... I can't think of the proper word to describe them they are so amazing.
The young lady also of course requires some attention of her own. So much work and detail was put into her. The toning and coloring gives incredible form and structure to the face. All of that aids into giving amazing emotions so well portrayed. Both characters in this piece are illustrated in a truly amazing way.
Now, that is not to say the background should be overlooked. Not at all. The vegetation and atmosphere or more of a photo realistic look to me.
You deserve every view and Fav from this piece. Thank you for sharing it with us here.
As far as flaws go, I see none that take away from this piece or that are distracting. Maybe the neck being too long? It hard to tell, because she might be shrugging, or just have a longer neck. Like I said. I see nothing that takes away from this piece. Though I would like to know what you think is wrong with this piece.
