Several people asked me if I can print them a fursuit-head - the answer is: only if they provide a 3d-model that is already prepared for printing. I do not have time for commissions. I will not make a model for somebody else. I will not fix broken models.
A model for 3d-printing has to have
- a closed surface,
- volume (modelling only the outside is not enough),
- a minimum thickness of 2mm everywhere (I prefere 3mm),
- no overhangs,
- only polygones with three points,
- correctly orientated polygones
and the parts have to fit in the printing area.
I made this short animation to show how I prepare a surface-model for 3d-printing (I did not show how to slice the model in the animation - this is easy with Netfabb).
