My horse Dancer grazing in the golden sunlight at the end of a day in May. It was so sweet and peaceful.

He's an appaloosa (where he gets the color) X Arabian (where he gets much of his type). He's a really, really, really easy and sweet guy to work with. I'm hoping to ride him by the end of the summer, if his body is ready for it. Mentally, he's very calm and has easily accepted all of the ground work I've asked of him. I love Dancer. :)
I can imagine. I have been told stallions can be tricky to ride, but this oen sounds like your best friend and all.
his fur colouring (sans the spots) would be referred to as "Rotschimmel" in german (with "Schimmel" [Mildew] depicting white, or white with grey/black overcast, the red midlew would be the mix of a dappled grey with a chestnut red or soemthing along that line). interesting colouring.
hm, I noticed the sheer amount of comments for the "Hello Horse" photo as opposed to the other's... welcome to furry fandom, I suppose. :)

If I knew the first thing about the visual arts, I could probably explain why I like this picture so much. If I were taking it I would center the frame on Dancer's center of mass. Instead you centered it on his face. That makes it look better centered than if it were geometrically centered. And then there's something about the angles of the fences, the road, and the shapes of the land that draws the eye in and balances things nicely. It might be that the shadows of the vegetation to the left balance Dancer's body off-center to the right. I don't know. All I do know is that I am impressed, even if I don't know what impresses me.
You know, this was one of those pictures that I looked through the window and said, 'gotcha', and then was all thrilled when I saw it on the screen because it was really that nice. Getting good shots of horses isn't easy becuase they are so long-bodied; you often get weird perspectives. But in this one, he's just 'stacked up' right, the visual weight of figure/ground is nice, and the light of late afternoon was just golden and lovely. I'm glad you liked this photo; it's one of the best, I think anyway, that I've ever taken.
