Jiniki remains the only character to not see any major changes (except shrinking somewhat) since her original appearance, and is unlikely to see many changes in the future.

Jiniki is the child of Ishiji (now Shela), queen of the Klis-khar nation generations ago. During a parade celebrating the Queen, Jiniki got away from her mother and ran out in the road to pet one of the show animals. The animal was spooked, and wounded Jiniki in its fear. She was rushed to the hospital and nearly lost her life. Her carapace was severely damaged, leading her doctors to predict her scar remaining with her through several molts.

The scar lead to Jiniki being teased, and over time she became introverted and afraid to be seen in public. Her mother, wanting the best for her daughter, sought out the best minds to find a way to mask or remove the damage. One of them referred her to Rish-khan, where they were working on a new form of medication that could see Jiniki good as new. To save her daughter from further embarrassment, Ishiji told the press she would be seeking help for herself.

At first they tried to heal Jiniki directly using Healing Majicka, but the fledgeling power did little to improve her situation. Seeing no other choice, and not wanting to report failure to the queen, they gathered the newest, purest majicka they ever created and infused Jiniki directly, hoping she would be able to heal herself. Unfortunately, the scar had become such a major part of who she was that even majicka's trans-formative nature did not remove it.

Ishiji offered herself to be infused so she could heal Jiniki with every ounce of her life-force, something the others were reluctant to do. The results went poorly.

The majicka inside Jiniki is the purist, most powerful ever created, but her low stamina greatly limits what she's capable of. Due to this, the remaining scientists and Iiji herself were blind to this fact. They would continue to make inferior majicka for years to come.

Jiniki's scar was finally healed by Tayza, whose majicka was supercharged by an experimental formula in the final battle against Iiji.

The same formula allowed Jiniki to 'defeat' Jaysiph, the most powerful monster Rish-khan had created, with just a stare. She stunned the creature long enough for Amiel to finish it off.

Despite her childish act, Jiniki is very intelligent. She's been instrumental in repairing and upgrading Zalika's computer network in the years since Iiji's fall. Shela gave Jiniki their necklace, and she wears it constantly.

Jiniki has physically aged only a few years since she was injected, and many believe she will outlive the other majibeasts by a fair margin.
