WIP piece of one of the upcoming series of adoptables I'm creating that my friends, including
YzarcCreations , will be helping me with to digitize (meaning digitally ink in and color) to put on sale.
My recent journal entry explains my current situation and as to why I'm doing the whole adoptable thing, but I figure if I'm going to sell off my ideas they're going to be some of the best!
So without further adieu, here is a WIP glance at the mercenary great-swordsmen (and somewhat femme-boi) Johann Guttenschwert. :3.
His attire and armor is based heavily off of a german mercenary group from the late middle ages-renaissance era known as the Landsknecht.
They were all about being flashy and flaunting the money they made, which often was spent heavily on the usually customized armor and outfit apparel they wore into battle. Nobles and artisocratic officials usually hated these guys because of their 'aping' of high society and disregard for tradition.
Of course while they did enjoy their own gaudy sense of fashion they were often very crude and boisterous, all to eager to mock the nobles and in many cases enjoyed wearing their outfits simply to cause a scene.
Basically these guys were your shock jocks and punk-rockers of the middle ages. They also introduced the cod-piece! xD

Awesome design, though that hat has to be as bad or worse than horned helmets in battle.
And... Is the crossguard of the Zweihander/Greatsword/Claymore a part of the blade itself? It looks like its just pommel, hilt and blade with four protrutions where the crossguard should have been
