 
                
                    A bowl that I made that's covered in a Tenmoku glaze. It was a pain in the ass to trim the foot onto it because the rim isn't flat. One of my personal best and favorites.

                    The kiln contains the energy released by the burning wood. The walls of the kiln are thick, usually about a foot so that the heat doesn't escape effectively. Also, a wood firing usually takes around 18 hours (at least for the kiln used at RRCC) to heat up while feeding it a steady supply of wood over the course of that time.
