Currently I've been doing them for free but I think I might be an idiot for doing so. They don't take terribly long to make though, maybe 2-3 hours.

For simply art?

I paid $50, and that's the price my artist has been charging forever. He recently upped it to $80.

Four hundred dollars is how much I plan to charge for my toys themselves!

What do you mean he rage quit? Like the fandom, the I flatable community or what? I saw him at FC2014 at the inflatable meet and greet and he is still planning to do other project with IW as far as I know.

Are you able to generate flattened panels from these 3d models? It would be a cinch to make plushies that way.

Not really. There's the autounwrap UV feature but it isn't really designed for that and will generate distortion and wrong sizes and such. Well, maybe there's software I'm not aware of that can do that easily.
