The one on the left actually looks like it may be possible to get it cut down to a nice dodecahedron! The right one I'm less sure about.

There are several pocks in it, but they're definitely from when it was formed. Still, they're enough so that you probably couldn't get it shaped like that...

Aw, a shame. The large one on the right could probably be cut to a bunch of small gems, though!

It all depends on the quality of the stone within, but I like it as a large specimen the most!

i used to own some garnets gems. they're a beautiful red. the ones i had where on the deeper shades, and looked nearly blood red, save for it's clarity was a lot thinner, so the hue didnt keep. they both were about 2 carets each, i'd bargain to say.

Yeah, I have some great garnets, but no single crystals or cut gems. I want a perfect dodecahedron ;.;

sadly, after a bunch of stuff in life, and mutual disownment of my bloodkin (long story), and time with moving around and my mom (problems there) i've gone and lost the pouch with all my gems in it. i hate that fact, as i'm pretty sure i knew precisely where it was, but it simply wasnt there when i went back to take all my stuff.

beyond the emeralds (pretty much my fave stone), i had a number of other precious and semi precious stones (including the garnets) i'd gathers somehow in life from somewhere. never knew where from, though.

also, garnets are my maw's birthstone, which is why i'm partial to them. they look somewhat like rubies (i like rubies!) and hold sentimental value for me. much like emeralds do. (my scale color is a deep, resonant emerald!)
