Let me tell you, on the real image, that is some PINK hair.
A cute little lady slips into her undies. I dunno if she's done for the night or just getting started. Too bad nights don't last forever.
Most of the color was done with Prisma markers, but her undies were actually colored with a Sakura pen brush, with a little shading done with a black Prisma. The black marker alone doesn't shade itself well enough. Then there's a little blush and highlights added with some Prisma pencils.
Also for sale, though I hate to see this one go cuz I can't for the life of me get my printer to make that hair even half as pink as the original. http://www.furbid.ws/cgi-bin/auctio.....item=232344552

I really like this piece. She looks adorable with that expression on her face and the color selection is very nice. I really love her blue eyes, pink hair and the shading of her hair and the shadows cast on her form. In my opinion I feel the pink hair and blue eyes make this piece.
As much as I love this I must confess that I'm a little distracted by her right arm positioning. It looks somewhat awkward in relation to where her shoulder is. Also, it appears to lack a bit of foreshortening in regards to her left arm making the right arm look larger even though it is further away from the viewer. My apologies for pointing this out as it is a wonderful piece and looks good otherwise. I only wish I could see how pink her hair is. :)

the reason you can't get your printer to print out a hot pink color is because of a thing called the "gamut range" of CMYK color process. although in theory the colors CMYK can blend together to create any color, the physical inks cannot. To reproduce these colors from a professional print, a monotone or duotone color is blended into the process, typically from a PANTONE palette. This color's specially formulated to make exactly the color you're looking for, and is typically explicitly set as a channel in a digitial illustration. Unfortunately, that is not easy (if it's even possible) with a scan, unless you were able to work with like for example, raw 96-bit scan formats.....
If you want to make prints of stuff closer to the color you want to achieve, you can always get a printer with a slightly extended gamut range like the Canon Pixma Pro 9000, or the less expensive (and also smaller gamut) HP Photosmart D7260. In the end though, maybe you can make more cash with hand-markered stuff. This is a cute pic! :B

the best color ranges are with printers with more than 4 inks. I'm biased towards HP, though canon does good colors at the high end 8)
an 99 dollar printer from HP can do 6 inks with a special cartridge, but you don't want to pay for that. Next time you're in the market for a printer, if you want a scanner too, try the c6280, or for 96-bit scanning, the big kahuna Photosmart c8180
