How do you get her to sleep so much? My little one only sleeps in her crate (I have to keep her there because of the bully cats in my house.) and when I take her out she never stops. She's an active one. Oh, and if you do name yours Lyra I have to say that is a great name. I have been calling mine Pudge, but that will change when I know for a fact I can keep her.
Pudge is a GREAT name!!! This one eats and then sleeps. She has slept through feeding times. What are you feeding Pudge, cat nip go juice? *giggles* In fact, Lyra is sleeping by me right now. She had her late lunch and played for a bit then wandered over to my side to curl up and snooze. I guess I got lucky and got the lazy kitty to match with the lazy Mum!!

I'm sure she would gladly sleep after eating but the formula she gets is very rich according to the doctor so we have to keep a track on how much she eats, and well, nothing is enough for her. Its heartbreaking having to take away the formula before she realises she is indeed full. Takes about ten minute for her to realise her belly is as full as it can get. But, if you are in her sight she never stops crying. She loves attention like nothing else.

Lyra wasn't away from me but for a couple of hours since we got her. Luckily I'm a stay-at-home lazy bum so I'm able to do this. Lyra cries still, but only usually when she can't see me or I put her in her crate to sleep at night.
I'm feeding Lyra KMR formula in powder form that I reconstitute with warm water. Perhaps you can pick some of this up at the store so she can eat until her belly is full. Lyra ate about 1 to 1 1/2 tbsp at that age. She is very very good at spitting out the nipple when she felt full. Your vet knows best though because that is what they do!!

step 1 of washing a kitten:
-apply lots of love to keep kitten happy
-ensure kitten is fed
-have a change of clothes at hand, reason being obvious later
-unplug the washing machine and dish washer to avoid temptation to get the job done fast
-the tumble dryer is RIGHT OUT!
-yes so is the washing line, kittens do not like that

*LOL* Oh yes!!!!! Luckily this little one is small enough that I can just run her under the tap, soap her up and do the same for rinsing. She wriggles and wiggles around but is small enough to be contained easily yet gently! I thought the change of clothes was for when the kitten peed all over you after feeding! *giggles*

I've not been near kittens for some time, not since my brothers ones grew up into cats. But they were so tiny, fit them in pockets and such. It was fun to hang around his house, occasionally there'd be a rapid thumping sound as one just ran up or down the stairs for some reason.

When my cats were babies we had to put them in the tub because they had to adjust from mommy milk to formula and it gave them diahreah. So, in order to clean them quickly we put a little water and pet shampoo in the tub and washed them. They didn't flip out, though, they actually seemed to like being in the tub! They actually swam around a little bit in the water, too. It was only knee deep to them, though. :3
This is how they make up for the difficulty of giving them a pill. :)

She is very cute until she and I are both asleep. Lyra wakes up and decides to chomp down on my lower lip with her brand new kitty teeth for NO reason. Of course I wake up going OUCH OUCH OUCH - WTF did you do THAT for?? Then I give it about 5 minutes and she is back being the cutest thing ever!!!!!
She was the cutest! *hehe* She is still cute, but in a bigger way now. She still has her little stuffed hippo that was in her crate to keep her company. She carries Harry the Hippo around and plays with him then drops him in her water bowl. She loves dropping her toys into her water bowl - one morning there was Harry the Hippo, Squirrlie and one of her jingle balls. I got her a new Harry the Hippo because the original is getting quite worn - she won't touch it.
