I haven’t had much time lately to draw anything for myself, and I doubt i’ll have a whole lot of time in the future, so I wanted to create something fun for me to do while I can.

This would make for a sick armor set for Bane from Dota 2. The body is slightly different, but for some reason it just makes me thing of Atropos the Bane Elemental (aka Bane) from Dota 2 a lot. You even have this smaller appendages on the back and elsewhere like the main model does. xD
If I was familiar with a 3D modeling program I'd love to make this a real thing. Heck, if you would make 3D items for Dota 2 you get cash for the purchase and selling of that item for the foreseeable future.

The lore behind a lot of the heroes in Dota 2 is pretty interesting. You have a lot of creatures from different dimensions, regions, and etc all in the line-up. Several of the heros have rivalries and their own back stories. I know a lot of people give LoL praise for it's story and back story but Dota has a much more diverse story and characters to it's roster. Majority of League of Legends champions are humans hailing from different countries and etc where dota has creatures and different beings from remote locations and even alternate dimensions. A few are even from the void or places on the edge of the void itself. Plus you have actual demons in Dota in the line-up. xD
Bane is pretty much the embodiment of fear and nightmares themselves. He's not really a demon or anything you could classify him as, but he is certainly an interesting being. In the game he's one of the best disablers in the game.
This reminds me a lot of what I draw in my spare time. I love monsters and creatures. It's fun to just make something that has human-esk shapes, but is clearly inhuman.
If you think Bane is interesting take a look around at the lore for some of the Dire heroes or the heroes in general. You might find some stuff interesting about them that you like. =P I'm trying to remember some other stuff, but at the moment my brain is being derp. lol

Thank you for all the info.
I actually just started play LoL and it actually has a pretty large lineup of monsters and a few demons i think. But I'll probably download Dota 2 on steam and try it out. I'm a sucker for story and characters. Also LoL has a bit of a rough community.

Hey if you want to play Dota 2 I can actually coach you on how to play since they have an actual coach system built into Dota 2. Dota 2 is pretty high level when it comes to complexity because of what heroes and items can do. I can literally teach you everything I know and what you need to know to find your niche in Dota 2. There are quite a few differences that matter between LoL and Dota 2. They're the same genre of game, but completely different. Dota 2 as a game will be much more harsh for each individual mistake, but gives you plenty of time and chances to recover from those mistakes.
Dota 2 has an interesting community. You get some really really nicely behaved people that are willing to teach and understand, but on the flip side you will get some nasty people. Trolls don't happen as often with Dota 2 since when you're reported your banned via your steam account. It's pretty hard to dodge a ban in Dota 2 and the community and staff are pretty adamant about punishing anyone that steps over the line. One of the biggest differences is in ranked there's no set lanes or much of any kind of lane calling. People just pick and play whatever works since all heroes in Dota 2 can hurt big time in their own right.
Matchmaking can be weird at times, but it works pretty good since every game I've played it's always been close or at least enjoyable. Roles and such aren't a super big issues, but you can tell when things aren't going right and it just feels good when you play well win or lose. There's lots of options and there isn't 1 build that works for every hero.
Lots of words. XD Hit me up on steam if you decide to play and I can help you learn as much as I can help you with. I'm Arkas on Steam or look up ArkasIcewind. Icon will be an image of a Nintendo(NES) cartridge that says blow me at the bottom. I think with my MMR being pretty close to 3200 which is the top %10 of the world.. I can say I at least know what I'm doing or I'm doing something right often. xD

Alright, sounds good! Next time I'm on steam I'll add you.
I think one of the problems with LoL that I had the most is the obsession with lanes and just how nasty people would get over who went to what lane. It's incredibly disheartening to start a game and when I'm playing only my fourth match on beginner mode to have someone constantly trying to direct me places in the most snide ways possible.

That's kind of what happens to a community when you have it accessible to everyone. You would think everyone would work together and work for a good strong community, but the opposite happens when on the internet since what you get is everyone trying to assert their opinions and views on other players.
The LoL community was actually really awesome before it when public and got popular. There were some trolls and nasty people, but it's easy to pick up and play style made it popular and that attracted a lot of negative people. Combine these people with a company that's very lenient towards it's player base and an easy to evade and dodge bans.. it's hard to keep undesirables out or even really effectively punish them. If you ban evade on any Steam game you'll be banned on all of your accounts. If you persist with dodging then you lost the ability to register new accounts. If you still further insist on causing trouble they'll contact your ISP or take heavy measure to ensure you're punished for what you've done. With LoL? You can make as many fake emails and sign up an infinite number of accounts and they'll have trouble proving it's you and won't ban you right away. That has a major impact on what punishment is for both games and effects the community by proxy.
There are some nice people in LoL and it's not a bad game, but they way it's designed and ran it allows for a toxic community to flourish. It's great for business but it lacks in the ethics because it just promotes bad behavior. Riot also listens to their community waaaay to much. Changes and patches are designed with it's player base in mind and what they like and don't like influences that. LoL and Dota used to be very similar, but the community called for it to be easier and more accessible to everyone. Champions were made easier to pick up and play and the game was simplified. Eventually the community caused Riot to tone down the power of every champion in the game so that mistakes aren't that big of a deal since there's not much room to be able to come back in LoL. They even eventually added a concede option which is actually a terrible thing since it allows people to just give up without learning anything.
Riot's staff has a LOT of history with the original DotA custom map on Warcraft III and Icefrog, who is developing DotA 2. Mobas and ARTS have some interesting history and connections to each other since they're pretty much responsible for E-Sports making it as big as they are now. I can tell you all about it if you want, but it's far easier to tell you about it then to type it out. Oh Dota 2 has voice chat built into it so I can talk directly to you through the game itself.
The whole lane calling thing used to not be an issue till tournaments started to be broadcasted. Everyone accepts what the pros do and say as law and don't allow for much deviation. There really is no reasoning with people on it with LoL because it just get's nasty.
One thing you might find interesting and different is that Dota 2 is a lot more action oriented. Like.. team fights and all sorts of things happen a lot more often. It's hard to explain, but Dota 2 has a lot more energy going on with it then LoL since gold isn't hard to get, but it can be hard to keep sometimes. This is due to the fact that gold isn't automatically safe when earned. If you die you lose a percentage of "unprotected" gold. There is also no function to automatically go back to base for free. You have TP scrolls that can't be interrupted unless you're stunned, but they cost gold and you need an inventory slot for them. They also need mana to activate.
Man I could go on forever because Dota 2 has so many things you have to learn and keep in mind when playing. xD It sounds like a lot, but it gets simple and easier after a while. LoL and Dota 2 are these two completely different breeds of animal which a few similarities and just explode with differences.

A community can really make or break a game sometimes, especially with these types of games where it's incredibly reliant on the community it built. LoL is such a contrast to say, Warframe, which actually has a surprisingly nice community. People seem genuinely kind and helpful, but the game it's self also does a good job of promoting it kindness. From what I've seen from LoL it's only focus with the community is what rakes in cash, not what actually makes the game more playable. It's especially bad since matches take so long, an awful team can really ruin the fun.
But I'll definitely try out Dota 2 sometime, I've been meaning to anyway. It just feels like such a shame to me for LoL to be so lacking, I actually really wanted to play it for some time now so I was excited. And it was exciting to learn for the first few matches until other players pretty much took away my chance to learn what worked on my own. It seems like a lot of potential was lost.

It boils down to how the developers and staff at Riot have treated their game's community and what they wanted to focus on.
At one point LoL had a lot of potential to go really far, but the choices of Riot and the influence of the community voicing it's opinion has changed a lot. I have a lot of money invested into LoL at this point and I honestly regret it now since I can't really enjoy it as much as I used to. After playing a lot of ranked games and watching the tournament pros play you eventually hit a wall in the game where you realize that games can be won or lost solely on who picks and plays what.
LoL is good for learning the basics of a Moba/ARTS genre game and understanding the basics of how those types of games go, but the community and limitation on options in game makes the game heavily reliant on what you pick to play. LoL is good fun, but when you want to play something and really get into it you want the room and opportunity to grow from every game. In LoL it's extremely hard to improve you game because it really boils down to last hitting every minion and getting a few kills early and just farming all game long till the 15 min mark. If you stop farming to go gank or push a lane in LoL you're punished more then farming if you're a carry. Supports have one specific and boring purpose most of the time and are often gimped by the fact that EVERYONE will be stronger then them. A top laner that loses his lane usually will cost a game because of how much of an advantage the enemy top laner will have. Jungle heroes have to gank to stabilize a losing lane or else it just falls apart. Heck with your items there's only so many options you have for any given situation and those items have limited uses. There are also a lot of items in LoL that are rarely ever built or used at all in any given game.
When you're going to start playing Dota 2 I'll have to give you a basic run down of everything and give you the basic tools needed to play. From there you pick up and learn what heroes you like to play as and your play-style. I like doing lots of damage so nukers and carries are my favorite types of heroes to play because they either kill people in a few shots or they just wail on someone till they exist no more. With Dota 2 you can go extremely far if you're good with one or two heroes and learn them really well. Some heroes when played right can turn losing games around or just absolutely dominate a team.
I love Dota 2 and I used to be really really into LoL till I basically advanced to the point where I can see a limit. With Dota 2 my skills are still improving with every game and my decision making is making a huge difference in every match. I don't know why, but for the most part you are rewarded a lot more in Dota 2 when you do well and play right. Team work is satisfying and rewarded heavily. You have options to push and backdoor towers too if you're certain heroes.
I actually had a game recently where someone was about to die and they used a skill to summon me to them. There was no warning before hand, but the second I was warped elsewhere and I saw my team-mate desperately trying to get away and the guy chasing him was half health I nuked him instantly. I saved a team-mate and got a kill because he knew I could kill him with my burst. It was unexpected by the most natural thing ever. xD
