"This is a ENO doublenest, come join me." *invites with a toenudge* :}
I'm fiddling with the submission off and on, seeing if I can get the right color profile to show. Done by commission of
toeclaws and uh... I'm not sure, it suddenly felt done to me, even though there's sooooo much about digital painting I don't know, and could add still. Sketched and planned traditionally, digitally painted in Photoshop.
I can't believe in the end this is only three layers we're looking at, though I have like 10 in the file, just 7 are turned off.
....Guys and ladies I wishI could enjoy this as much as you all surely will. I wish I could. I can't believe I could make something this neat and cheery in the middle of some very stressing horn-pulling times. I really WISH I was in this beach, away from family (as much as it hurts to admit/want it). I dunno. Maybe I'll be better later. Maybe I just ran out of steam on it. I like it though, mostly. It's good digital paint practice.
...Like my clawtips? :> I like my fat tail and THICK CALVES---oh yeah, I remember now. I was going to make a joke about teasing George Takei 'cuz he said something about the hawtness of guy firm strong calves haha. ONE COOL THING ABOUT THIS IS though that since I went on my trip, I've been running and parkouring so much that my body ACTUALLY MATCHES THIS REALLY CLOSE, especially in the feet, calves, and tummy (I still like to eat too much!) So I guess that's a bit of happy. Really I have ALL happy at all parts of this pic, just that, real life and psychologic things are dulling most of it down. Sucks. I guess when my life begins, I'll live in full color like this pic.
Enjoy! Done in like waaaay too many hours (like what, 20?) in Photoshop.
....how am I ever going to make a living from illustration when I paint this slow *cries*
EDIT: Got the colors looking right with an Apple RGB profile, at least on my machine! The colors should look VERY saturated to the point of being almost annoying, especially in the teals, blues, and neon yellow and greens. If things look bad, let me know!
EDIT 2: AUGH I think FA hates color profiles, or not all browsers load them. So you just won't see this pic as it was originally intended. Which suuuucks. :/ Augh x.x *whiiiine*

I've seen the progression of this and i must its turn't out great. The final finished piece looks pretty good . And of course those big, delish dragon feet look sexy as ever as he gets some r&r by tthe beach. I think he could with a foot massage to aid in relaxation hehe ;D. Hot pair though . I like the angle & BG too(it has a nice style to it imo). Great job man. Keep on practicing n you'll improve no doubt*thumbs up* ^^.
Heehee, thank you. And I could use a foot massage, I'm at the beach this moment and must have stepped on a rock through the sand, and now my foot joints pop slightly with every step, oogh, hate it when that happens, but I'd rather that happen because I know I'm at the beach then, and there's not really elsewhere I'd rather be...
and yah, with struggle and time I know I will improve. :>

There's nothing worse then an artist who hates his own work.
I still think its amazing looking despite the story behind it and the possible washed out colors as you say.
It takes something to draw feet nicely detailed like that and you got it.
So don't worry; We love it and you should too.

I actually don't hate, and thank you. :> I just kinda hate the mix of circumstances that were around it. With every big paint project I do there are always memories that are paired with it, and they're pretty permanent. I just wanna make arts with only good memories around me, and get frustrated when I'm doing such perfect inking or something and life poots in my face. _X I'm glad you love it, and in time I will too, for sure. <:
WHOA! Very nice Kurra!! Sorry I didn't catch it - I was in bed by the time you posted, and just got on for the first time today now. Looks fantastic - love the wrinkles on your sole and those delicious, teasing toes. It's such a great expression too - very cute and playful, and that of a dragon who knows he's being admired by his friends. :) Very well done sir.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAY and that's okay-- I know you were asleep, most of the world was. FA's timestamp is wrong, I posted that at 400,000 am GMT.
AND OH YEAH AREN'T SOLEWRINKLES GREAT I'M LIKE--

thank you *bows* though I'm just starting out. :> Much technique to do still. Much more paints to do.

I think it came out beautifully! The only thing I would suggest trying for next time is to make the footpaws just a bit wider. In some other pics, Kurra has these BIG wide, beefy feet, whereas here they are a bit thinner. Not a bad thing though! Those sole wrinkles and the beautiful skin wrinkles around those toes are just delicious. ^_^ That's the kinda scene that would probably make me trip as I went by as all brain power is diverted to instant "wow" at the sexy dragon and his soles.
it's actually doable with a lot less than I thought. Just start making marks and forming shapes with a simple brush with no effects, and repeatedly pick as many colors as you need without trying to be consistent with colors. And just keep doing that till you've painted what you wanted. You can do that on one or two layers too.
Awww wow, Kurra... this came out beautifully. :) The perspective really came out wonderful, and so many little ways you shape parts of the body just look perfect and beautiful and awesome. The love you put into those feets and solewrinkles really shows, and they look amazing for it. <3
There's something about the way you colour and the emotion and atmosphere of your art that's always really made it stand out to me. You did great on this and I love it to bits. ^^ It just makes me want to hug those feets of yours so badly, and then the rest of you. And not let go for a very long time.

We both hope. *swings in the hammock* And those little bits of how I shape the figure, yes! I was consciously thinking about those bits and it's cool to see that you caught on about them. :>

*giggles and claps paws* I thought that's what you were referencing... I like your version better. XD And yes, Kurrahugs are one of those things I look forward to someday making happen fo realz. ^^ I really needa pay attention to your arts and attention to detail on features like that in my own work. :) I'm happy with the arts I do myself, but there's a lot about your art that I really admire and aspire to!
I'm going to COMPLETELY ignore your unwarranted harsh self-criticism, because...well, look at all the positive comments up there!
It's really a beautiful rendition of large, relaxed paws. Especially that one sticking straight up, which is simply amazing. You've caught that really well...I would only agree with ToeClaws about the paws needing to be THAT little bit broader, but honestly, that is all. The sole and toe wrinkles really do set things off wonderfully. And that awesome, knowing, expression of the dragon...hehe, not as 'innocent' as you first think!
In short, superb stuff! *can't help but to sniff and nuzzle the paws*
