Well, there's a few things I can take credit for but that's not one of them.

I don't know how you do it. Whenever you touch on this subject you reach right through my skin, slip past my rib cage and squeeze the bejeezus out of my heart. By the end of this I had an image of a shabby trench warrior covered in mud limping up to the enemy lines with a loaf of bread. When questioned by his enemies his reply is, 'I ran out of bullets so I brought bread instead.' And once again my heart tried to break.

You are a treasure.

Seriously, though, have you written other war based stories. This is good. Reminds me of watching a movie about the first airplane fighters at WWI.
