This is the first chapter of a novel of mine I've been working on for the past two years now. Unfortunately, this is as far as I've gotten within that time. It's mainly because I shelved this project in favor of other projects. I will be writing more of this in due time.

Given that not everyone can use Word, this file is saved as .pdf. I think this might solve any problems with Word.

Bonus Trivia:
I had already written Chapters 1 and 2 in a notebook as the idea starter. For Chapter 1, all I had to do was copy directly from the notebook and make a few necessary changes. Included: Nate was originally Nats, but that was changed when I used the name Nats for Dungeons & Dragons. Sarah Relan was originally Sarah Williams, but that was changed so as not to blatantly rip-off Huckleberry Finn.
