MobianMinistry, a deviantart club for Christian Sonic the Hedgehog fans, had a contest for their deviant ID. This is my entry, and is currently used as their ID.
It was inspired by Matthew 6:19-21: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” In other words, it’s better to put more stock into spiritual things (as Sonic is) than material things (as Rouge is).

On another level, the picture can just be a contrast of Sonic and Rouge. They’re both free spirits who live life by their rules, but Rouge puts all her energy into the pursuit of jewels and material goods, while Sonic seems to enjoy life without worrying about those things. In the end, I sense that he’d be happier.
