Eons ago, I told my friend Steve that I would draw his snail-girl character Wendy Dew (who has not been drawn by anyone else as far as I know). I asked if I ought to draw another character with her like Benign or Anansi and he liked the idea of Anansi because they're both creepy-crawlies. This is the result. It's based off of a scene from a role-play we did years ago.
It's a little more elaborate than I originally planned, but I had been wanting to draw a full outdoor scene. I had fun experimenting with Photoshop coloring and effects even though I didn't know what I was doing.

Wendy is a nice, kind girl who probably shouldn't get mixed up with a guy like Anansi. Anansi isn't necessarily evil, but he's often selfish, rude, and somewhat amoral. He likes Wendy enough, though.

I always seem to have trouble keeping my lineart dark and crisp. I used a tutorial by brianne333 on deviantart.
