This was a commission for
dakotawolf which'll debut at Furry Fiesta this coming weekend, they made the rest of the costume themselves. If you see him out and about, I'd love a picture!
It's fun to make characters outside the normal muzzled mammal formula. Vision is through the mouth, the eyes are just vents. It was tricky arranging the padding inside the head but I eventually found the sweet spots for optimal comfort and vision.
I hand-sewed the whole headcover instead of machine-sewing it, because it's a bit harder to hide seams when it's all uniformly the same fur over the whole head. Plus it's very short and dense, so extra care would be needed anyway.
The inside of the mouth is spandex with a minky tongue, and the neck is also lined with spandex. I couldn't keep myself from smiling while I worked on this, it came out so cute!! More unusual critters, please. :)
