a piece I did a while ago as an experiment. Canvas panel (11x14) covered with torn pages from a pretty bad fantasy novel and clear gesso, then painted over with acrylics. Clear gesso is awesome and I wish it was cheaper, I've tried doing similar things in the past with matte medium or mod podge, and it never had enough tooth to really grab the paint. I really like how the uneven colors in the background came out (a mix of acrylic, water, and matte medium all blended on the panel.
