Some final touch-ups and fur pulling-out-of-seams to do still.
A friend requested via commission, me to make her a set of handpaws. I'm not a fursuit maker. Let alone I know nothing about sewing except 'step on the pedal and WEEEEEE!!!!! but. As a crafter / Jack of all trades -- Master of none, I manage it. Commissioner requested I leave the fur long all over, so she can do her own trimming job. Which -- Thankfully to me, because I know NOTHING about properly trimming without uck results. XD These are a million times better than the last set I made for myself. Learned better techniques and better ways to pull hair out of the seams.
These are made to go under the arm sleeves. As generally that method works better because the bulk of the fur holds the arm sleeves in place. I really like how MFY did the handpwas, having the felt around the end so freshly cut, raw fur-backing material isnt against your skin. The fabric band feels a loooot nicer and comfy ^.^
Over-all happy with the way these came out, much improvements from previous paws, learning the more i make. I want to properly credit Matrices for their template for hand paws. I slightly modified the template to my own preference since there were areas i didnt like in the original design.
As much fun as sewing is, a good time killer, This isn't anything I'm doing often. I dont exactly have the time to work on stuff like this, Work keeps me very busy. I also am limited to a sewing machine that my parents got over 20 years ago, a KenMore Limited edition sewing machine that was $300 back in the day ( bloody expensive and advance for its time period ). It's ol. and i cant even sew the entire perimeter of a handpaw without it sometimes jamming up due to its age. I dont wish to super-shorten its life with all this fur sewing x3
And before anyone asks...No, I'm not open/taking commission for hand paws...Sorry. It's an offer I sometimes take up -- if i have the time, for close/good friends. I nearly passed this one up but figured i could manage the time in, seeing they need to be delivered Saturday in person. I charged a cheap price for them, since im no professional / experienced sewing nut.
