With the help of
my Batears are back! They needed a new base and Seiokou was happy to help out. For that I created two more sweeties for her! :D More so as an example of the types! >w<About Batears:
They're mostly a fox humanoid but with Bat wings for ears. The wings don't work for flying nor are they good for grabbing anything. They do help with their hearing as they can direct them to pin-point the sound they heard. They can fold tightly against the head and extend fully out. The membrane between each "finger" is very flexible and can stretch very thinly. If damaged the membrane will heal rather fast. (like a week or so) When Batears sleep they enjoy total darkness so will cover their faces with their bat wings.
Batears are a diurnal species meaning they are active during the day and sleep at night. They tend to live in warm climates since they can lose a lot of heat through their bat wing ears.
About the types:
Type one is what Cocoa is. She lacks arm fur and is more likely to be found living near the equator.
Type two is Lemon Bar. His is the most common type and can be found all over the place. They don't mind the colder climates but still would rather be at a warm beach then near the frozen isle in a store.
Type three is Lavender Sprinkles. They are more rare as infant Batears can die if too cold, but these have managed to survive in tundra areas. Places that can get really cold but are typically warm. This type will both migrate and hibernate depending on how sudden the cold weather appears. ( Like when Florida had that crazy cold snap dropping uber cold... yeah they'd just find shelter and sleep it out. If it's gradual they'll migrate south to warmer weathers. )
Batears can wear clothing to help prevent being cold.
Infant Batears:
Infants stay pretty much attached to their mothers. Twins is very rare often leading to one of the two dying. They need to be kept warm constantly so are hidden in the chest fluff of their parents. When they are born they have barely any fluff and their bat wings are very tiny. If they are left uncovered for too long they'll start to shiver and their organs will shut down. ( Even 70' F is too cold. Between 90-100'F is the best temp for infants while type three could survive in the 80-90'F range. While being kept at 110-120'F would kill them from over heating as their ears wont be able to cool them off since they are small. Adults can survive at 140'F no problem. Their head wings will fan them off. ) ( IE infant survival is tricky. )
BATEARS ARE A CLOSED SPECIES!!! However I do often make them randomly for events. I also plan on making infant Batears since I know there are those out there that are interested in such a thing. Same with my Flametails... there will be an infant batch soon too.
