These railway tracks, to me, represent the way to the southern edge of my territory-- to Seattle and the southern Puget Sound. Their feminine steel curves flow with a certain grace and swiftness unmatched by the choking interstate. Lummi Island in the background.

I've always thought it would be cool to find an abandoned stretch of railway and drive a handcar for miles and miles under your own power. There's a certain poetry about it.
