What kind of brushes do you use?

currently I'm breaking in a few Army Painter brushes - I use the Monster for my basecoat and washes, then the Regiment size for just about everything else. I did buy a Character size but I usually don't need to use it.

ive just been using crummy value packs forever (except for a couple big inch size brushes for big painting) and i'm feelin like i REALLY need new brushes XD

Yeah I learned very quickly when I started painting wargaming minis years ago that brushes are one place you DON'T want to cheap out on when it comes to small detail. A good brush will make all the difference, painting with crappy brushes makes any project a nightmare. I used to use Citadel brushes, but they're more expensive and not quite as cooperative as the Army Painter stuff. This Regiment brush is a champ, has barely lost any bristles in a couple months and keeps a gorgeous point.

i teach painting, and im always telling people about the importance of good brushes :P but i guess tiny painting is still new to me and i have been too lazy and cheap to seek out quality brushes

That's a nice effect on the mane, is it a color wash?

I thought about doin' it that way, but I just ended up doing reverse-highlighting! Started with a couple coats of bright golden yellow, and then lightly drybrushed orange over it, then highlighted with a darker orange. I think it looks neat :3

Okay, I'm stumped.
Are all these actual sculptures or are these drawings of sculptures.
They're amazing, but it's so hard for me to figure it out.

They're sculptures of drawings, sometimes! What would be really cool would be making drawings of my sculptures of drawings. But naw they're all real 3D sculpted thingies that I made and then painted! Thank you so much!
