Hello all!
I suppose something like this has been a long time coming for anyone who's ever commented or even been nice enough to send a note, inquiring a little more about the story behind a lot of my own original concepts.
So, here's “Ossuary.”
I thought the best thing to do with all of it was make it all sort of a “freeverse” for anyone to share and take part in. In the download you'll find a lot of (purposefully) vague backgrounds, information, and images that suggest the general mood and feel of the universe.
I invite anyone to do whatever they'd want with it – whether that's create characters, use the world as a place to set roleplays – whatever. I'm not stingy – feel free to use your own characters in the setting. Make up a reason why they're there. It's partially why I left so much of the story blank. I wanted to provide the groundwork or springboard for anyone out there who's a creative spirit, but might have trouble getting things going. As someone who does a lot of day/night dreaming and creating, the biggest and most rewarding thing I can think of to do with that is to inspire others.
The only things I would ask is that whatever you do with this, if you do anything at all with it, is that you keep it free. I'm releasing all this under a sort of Creative Commons deal with the intent that anyone from anywhere can use it. So no commercialization.
The only other thing I ask is please, no offers of partnerships or co-ops. Feel free to (and I encourage you to) make up your own canon for how things came to be, new races, monsters, companies – whatever. Certainly, I'd love to hear about it, but no direct partnerships in coming up with anything new. I know that sounds a little cold and impersonal, but I do have reasons and its just to keep everyone sane and happy. It's a little hard to explain, but more informally: Not that I don't want to help anyone if they need or want it, but I don't want exclusive partners in creating things for it. I'm a lot more comfortable adding onto my own canon I have by my lonesome.
So all that being said – I hope somewhere, someone finds a little use for all this. Thank you all for the support, comments, notes, and kind words. Though I may not respond to every comment or thank for favorites, know that I do see them all and I do appreciate them.
Happy world-building,

Sure, but understand that nobody needs my approval for anything - I'm just providing a "groundwork canon" for others to do whatever they'd want with. If people want to do-away with almost all of it, that's fine, if they want to use their own character in the established universe, that's fine too. There's no right or wrong screwing around with this!
I was always afraid to inquire about this aha. But damn dude. This is some really impressive stuff. I absolutely LOVE how you left it purposely vague; it kind of goes hand in hand with my own personal writing style and story telling and it's absolutely delicious to read through and put two and two together in the most absurd but-when-you-think-about-it correct ways. Something like that. Especially when there's far-future versus far-past stuff referencing each other. Observing everything come together and then collide into a gigantic mess to pick pieces and parts together that only you knew what it was from the start. Maybe hoping that someone could pick up on it in a very specific way.
Too good that sort of thing. This is a hell of a universe to play in man.
Also are you me when it comes to music. Cause damn if I don't love every song you've ever posted with your pieces and the soundtrack listed.

Thank you very much Medane!
I'm glad you got a kick out of the vagueness; that's also one of my favorite methods of storytelling (BLAME!, Dark Souls, etc) - you can get on by fine without looking deeper, but if you do know where to look for it there's a story there. Playing with different tech levels is also fun - weapons, androids, cybernetics and the like cropped up as a way for the magic-less to stand on a little more equal ground with the then-at-the-time rulers. Only, since nothing is stopping a magic-user from using these new technologies, characters start popping up who were not only magic but now also might be wearing a suit of powered armor with a heavy machine gun on it.
Thanks for the compliments in music choices as well! If you know of anything similar in that vain that I haven't posted or listed, I'd love to check it out!

Back with some of your earlier stuff that I noticed that fit into the Ossuary world I got a raging Cyberpunk 2077 feel and attributed the trailer music fairly heavily with your art, Bullets by Archive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzT.....pQ&index=8. I feel it's more of contemplation mixed with action, not so much for your dark, worldly theme I think. Maybe I have an ability to twist most music to fit nearly any sort of visual (mental) scene, but I find it really compliments some of your work. I think I was very inspired by Ghost in the Shell at the time.
As for adding onto your playlist that'll be tough to do, I'd say you really covered the moodiness of the world extremely well and there's not much I can top it with especially with how discordant a lot of it sounds. I've only been exposed very recently to it by you so I haven't branched out a lot aha. However there is an old game that has this interesting feel to it that kind of fits your universe (in my eyes at least). Sample some of the OST, you might find something interesting. I've linked to a specific one to start off with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?featu.....DmFSrY4w#t=698
Likely subconsciously inspired by Ghost in the Shell again aha. Once again dude awesome stuff!

Thanks a bunch! I enjoyed both of those and went back to listen to Incoming in its entirety. It sort of reminded me of the older Command and Conquer tracks which I have fond memories of. Cool playlist on youtube too, I left that on for a while while I was doing stuff today haha.
I'm a big fan of GitS as well, mostly the first movie though (all the iterations, movies and series have amazing soundtracks though!).
Thanks again for the links, and I'm glad you're finding a bit of use for all this!

Thanks for this! This is something really interesting to see. The playlist alone is keeping me occupied right now.

Yup, it's one of those games that certainly doesn't help the player at all! It does manage to create a very good atmosphere though, i think the feeling of being lost to begin with is part of the reason it's so difficult to understand. It's just WIP at the moment so hopefully we'll see a finished version later.
Lol! It is certainly a freaky game even though it doesn't have anything really freaky going on. The Dos beginning part is gonna be confusing if you never used DOS. The game will respond to only a few commands though. type DIR to get a list of files, the ones ending in .EXE are programs. To start the program just type it's name. the programs are REMOTE, VOIDSCAN and DIVE. so try typing those in. I've also found a mysterious LOGIN but i don't have a clue what it does!
If you get really stuck there's a walkthru video on youtube, but that might spoil it if you watch too much.
