On Cleo's home planet all the mousies communicate via telepathy using their antennae. Cleo had never before attempted it with an earth being, so when she tried it with Liane she got a big surprise! As soon as she made contact, the bunny went into a deep trance-like state and behaved like a puppet, doing anything that Cleo thought up. At first she was shocked, but in short order she saw that this had a lot of fun possibilities. Soon she had Liane barking and begging just like a terrestrial dog.
"Oh my," thought the alien mousie girl as she manipulated the rabbit with her mind, "this is fun, but it must be good for more than just parlor tricks." And Cleo began to think.

Hmmmm. I suppose you're right.
Oh well. So much for running carefree around the house naked, sleeping on the couch all day, being fed whenever you want, and spending evenings getting groomed as you lay with your head in my lap.
Nope. As soon as this wears off it's back to work for you missy!

Well now, this is a dilemma, isn't it? On the one hand, we simply can't have other species thinking they can dominate rabbits like this! On the other, Cleo is quite a cutie, and I'd hate to spoil the fun too soon. So maybe I'll just leave things a bit longer, at least until she's distracted enough I can steal those pretty leggings!
Her throne stood upon a mound of bunnies.
The ones near the top groaned under the weight of those above them. The ones at the bottom were already dead.
It had been little less than a month since the strange being and her rabbit Messenger had landed on this world and taken control as easily as one might snatch a toy from a small child. Some had resisted, they had strangled themselves with their own ears. Others had tried weaponry; the planet's defenses had neatly annihilated them before being quickly dismantled by their operators. Religions had prayed, but they had a new goddess now.
Around the throne the multitude danced until they collapsed from exhaustion and sang until they coughed up blood. Spent bunnies were dragged from the fray crumpled and broken, ever to be replaced by unwilling new additions. For those present could no more deny their queen than they could order themselves to die, though many fervently wished they could do so.
With the efficiency only possible with forced labor the planet remodeled itself around its new empress. A literal golden city rose around her as the entire populace stripped anything of value from their homes and risked life and limb to offer it before her. To this city flocked the best, the brightest, the most talented, to give their lives if necessary, to pour all their efforts into whatever whim was demanded of them. One day she might organize a giant fireworks display, another she might make a hundred people walk into the ocean and drown. Nothing could be done, nothing could ever be done.
And a billion miles away on another world under another sky ten thousand other ships were built with the labor that had been exported from the first conquered world. In a few weeks they would be ready and a wave of mice would seed the stars, seeking out new worlds to conquer, each dreaming of leading the life of a goddess.

Hey, don't tell me if humans had that power they wouldn't be tempted to do the same thing. Just look at the Stanford Prison Experiment.
The experiment is interesting to me in that it leaves the exact question you asked; 'DO other animals use the same method or a better one?' It's always interesting to see things behaving in a way you don't expect, and bunnies are certainly that, from the opportunistic carnivory to their unexpected playfulness.
