A couple of bad-tempered creatures here. While they're grumpy in general, they quite literally set ablaze in anger.
They're not literally phoenixes, but they do live forever without aging as long as they keep eating golden apples. These guys tend to hang around such apple trees, of course, and chase away anyone attempting to steal the apples. Given the circumstances, I'm sure you could understand their frustration.
