So, FINALLY brought home my 3rd Cintiq, this time it is Wacom Cintiq Companion (WIN8 edition, 256Gb).
Thats how it is now, feel free to ask any questions, will be happy to answer it and help you to decide if you need it for yourself. Also, sure, any questions about other Cintiqs. Myself I tried all of the existing models, even ones that I dont own, others happened just to be not that fitting for me, but can be good for you.
For myself: I'm damn happy and it worth every cent.

Can you give me your thoughts on the Cintiq Companion? I have been considering getting one. I need a new portable computer and I was thinking if I could get one that served two purposes, it'd be a winning situation. My research has led me to believe it is worth it but other thoughts and opinions never hurt...
Thanks!
Thanks!
Its very powerful and awesome thingy, when it comes to everything you can think about when you want to have a portable PC. You just connect mouse, keyboard and you even can play on it, it had core i7 inside and all the tasty hardware. As for drawing - it's cintiq, none the less, best tablet ever created. Very comfy.
I had no laptop before (ok, 10 y.o. shit, because never needed one), so for me its 2 in one and works perfectly for everything I ever thinking of.

I dunno how hyge files you mean? My files are around 3000 pixels on biggest side and around 200mb total. And works perfect.
My first tablet was bamboo, many-many years ago, and after cintiq I will never use any other tablets again. Just...no. So much better. But its personal preferences I guess.

The only con is that it's much more heavy than any usual tablet, so taking it with you will be a problem (unless its a companion). Everything else is awesome, drawing on a screen is so awesome and pure that I cant describe it with words. For me, there is no way back to regular tablets.
I read about that, but many news often miss some good infos.
Well i'm mostly drawing in home, so.. Companion with cnnecting like Hybrid.. would be for me perfect. ..or I hope in some day they invite tablet with Windows, which will be available to be switched on Android, like some others starting to do that. It will be perfect tablet.. but mostly all goes about that connection what Hybrid have, and companion doesn't .__.

I LOVE that desk QwQ I used to have a similar one until it got destroyed Q_Q I still miss it so much, it was so nice >w<
Anyways I do have a question. I've been a traditional artist since I was 13 and I always draw my best traditionally. I have a Bamboo Pen, but I just can't draw the same as I do anatomy wise, and I'm thinking it's because I'm used to seeing my hand movement when I draw rather than looking a screen the whole time.
So my question is, does the Cintiq line feel like you're drawing on paper with a pencil or does it have a different feel?? I've been looking to get a Cintiq, particularly a Cintiq Companion, but I'm not sure if it will have the same feel as drawing traditionally with a pencil and paper and I'm looking to get something like it since I know I can draw better. Would you say Cintiqs work as though you're drawing on paper or do they work a different way??
sorry for the long message ^^'

I know the question wasn't for me, but just needed to say that the Bamboo-tablets are really bad. It's no wonder you can't get used to it, these things stink (at least in my opinion) - try to test a intous pro first, before deciding between a tablet and a cintiq (since there is a big money difference and I wouldn't recommend a cintiq as a starting tablet)
You need to get used to looking at the screen instead of your hand. I even know people who prefer the tablet over the cintiq, because they like that their hand isn't in the way of seeing things.

Thank you for the input none the less!! Any advice I can get on this means a lot >w< I've heard the Intuos Pro tablets are really good, but yet I wasn't able to afford one for my first tablet. It's something worth looking into of course, and thank you for the advise QwQ It means a lot that you were willing to give me some advice QvQ I'll start looking into the Intuos Pro tablets again, and again thanks for the advice =3
I've always felt better looking at my hands, but the coloring and detail I can do with my bamboo thrills me >w< I plan to do art for a career so I want to find something that works with my hands *as I've always had a rough time getting my hands to work out what I see in my mind lol >w<* Again thank you!! =D =3

I'd say that I agree with Ro, try intuos. Bamboo is a bit meh, old versions were better IMO, now...Nope.
And you know, I dont draw traditional at all, my pencil drawings looks like crap, so... I dunno. But drawing on cintiq feels totally different, it took me some time when I had to use to bamboo again for emergency reasons. You might like it much more! But also takes time to get use to it.

Hope I'm not too late to ask questions but I was wondering if you could enlighten me on some things, I'm currently looking into upgrading from my 12WX Cintiq to either the 13HD or Companion
How did you like the Companion vs the 12WX, I've heard good and bad things about the stand but what are your experiences with it?
Also do you miss the touch strip at the sides a lot? I use mine to zoom in and out and it's become a big part of my work flow, do you have any buttons specified for zooming and did it take a lot of adjusting?
How do you like the screen brightness compared to the older model? I hate it when I make some cool art that I'm really happy with it, and then move it to my main screen and have the colours look all off xD
What's the battery life like for the Companion when it's unplugged?
Honestly it's really just a toss up for me, 13HD is cheaper and does most of the same, and is more portable now
But the Companion, even if it's more expensive, looks like it'd be a much better option for the artist on the go.
Anyway, hope you can find the time to answer my questions c: Thanks for reading anyway!

1. I like stand of 12WX much more, from the point how its made. But its also much more heavy, so I see the point why they dont use it anymore. Stand of companion is strange, not elegant and from the first sign - uncomfy. But when it comes to actually working with it - it does its job really well, no matter how it looks like. And since Companion is more for working not at home, I had good experience even when it was just on my laps with no stand at all. So... it is ok and works nice with its purpose of being not heavy and mobile.
2. I use touch rings mostly, because 24HDT is my main, didnt used 12WX for a while, but before I used strips for the same thing, zooming and so on. Yes it is more comfy to have it, but its not that big problem, I setted zooming and so on on buttons, works fine for me.
3. Color brightens is so awesome its nothing to compare, its much more correct than at 12WX also, but I still use my main screen for color correction.
4. Depends on programs that you are using and options. Like battery saving, screen brightness, wifi, things like that. For me its 6+ hours with SAI.
What can I say...Every Cintiq it's magic, nothing to compare with other tablets, but you know it since you have 12WX. So... You might really love colors and brightness. Companion on 13HD is a question if you REALLY think about traveling a lot. If you do take your stuff to school or something. I cant tell you what is better for you... For myself, Companion is option for traveling only, all other tablets are too small for me since 24HDT, but its quite personal opinion, I know people who cant handle such a big screen and they feel uncomfotable using it.
I hope you will decide and make yourself happy with a new tablet, one or another!
My pleasure to answer you.
