This a quick shot of the very basic wire armature for my upcoming hyena girl sculpture/figurine. It is made of bundling wire (found at most hardware stores), and a piece of square brass tubing so I can (hopefully) remove the arms later when it is finished so I can make a mold of the figure. I use a 8" figure template that I drew out on a piece of paper to measure the lengths of wire then cut them to size, bending at the joints for the desired pose, then glue them together with super glue. The brown blobs are bits of Sculpy III that I have added to reinforce the joints once I bake it. Not much, but this is the same way I started my last figures, so it should get more interesting very soon. Also, I was thinking that when I start making these as kits for sale, how would a print of an original piece of artwork I do for each figure included free with each kit sound? Thoughts, ideas, comments, all are welcome.
