The last of the adoptables from
blink! I had two different ideas in mind for her character/setting... But I decided to go with DIS one, which I will conveniently explain now. BD
Mallorey goes by the name Brian, which eventually mutated into "Briar" at the hands of someone misunderstanding her accent. She prefers the privleges that being a man offers in her time, and prefers to keep herself discreet and unnoticeable amongst the crowd. ... But we all know that doesn't work for protaganists! Briar is a standard industrial worker by day, but a boxer by night! In the country she lives in, it's forbidden to use moves... But back in the country she came from, moves were her daily bread! She finds the law banning them to be stupider than tits on a tauros, and so she has turned to earning money on the side by knocking people's lights out in the underground ring! Very illegal, very dangerous, and extremely entertaining stuff! We'll just have to wait and see how that all works out for her, though...
I am so happy that I've finally found a character to work into this story, it's been a real waste of a perfectly fun idea up until now! Thank you so much for this character design (here's the original) and all the others you put on sale Blink, I've had so much fun drawing them! u r 2 cool, ya know that?
(Go! Go buy your own from Blink! She's selling more designs, and your money would be very well spent! http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5514716/)

Alright... First time commenting since a long time! I'll try to do the best I can!
Well, first of all... When I first looked at this image before reading the description, I was a bit confused about her gender. She looks so boyish in her mannerisms and her clothing, but then I also saw a bit of a feminine face and of course boobs.
And then I read that description and noticed it was all intentional! I mean, she's doing some masculine things, which shows in her physique and posture. So, I'd say that's a mission success.
One can only wonder what that piece of tied ribbon is, wrapped around one of her spikes. Is it just something cool? Or maybe it's a memento?
Looking at her fists, I also try to figure out how this underground boxing ring works. Is it done with bare fists? There does seem to be blood on her tape, so that seems to imply so. And it would make sense for an illegal underground boxing ring.
As for criticism... Uh... Well, I notice that there's some very very minor spill of colors. In her pants, the color is spilling out of the lines in two places. It's hard to see and not really worth pointing out, but... Well, I felt like I had to point out something, and this was the only thing I could find.

Thank you, glad to hear it worked out! :D In the future when I draw her her shirt is going to be closed, hopefully making her a little less confusing at first glance! After all, trying to disguise yourself as a man doesn't tend to work so well with boobies hangin out!
I wonder what it is too, actually! I tend to enjoy adding random bits like that to my character designs... A habit I picked up from anime, no doubt! I suppose I'll have to figure it out as I go, what this little cloth tidbit is actually for. XD
I actually need to do more research into the time period before I can answer these kind of questions... But I do have the benefit of Perciverse being a world that is only somewhat based on the real world. So... I can change some details here and there for the convenience of the story! (Oh, and I should mention... Yes, her story and indeed most stories I am working on all take place in the same universe as Percival's story, though in different times and places! I'm not sure if I made that clear or not, so I figure it doesn't hurt to mention!)
Ahh, color spill... My old nemesis! A lot of times I correct those issues by doing "double" inking, where I ink the piece once after sketching, then ink it again after coloring to help cover up the spills/darken the outlines! I also sometimes cover up spills with the same white gel pen I use for highlighting... But those ones must have escaped my notice! Thanks for finding something to point out, I'd be worried if there wasn't any sort of mistake to see! XD
