this is real media acrylic paint and acrylic inks :)

or did you mean for scanning/touchup? x) Photoshop for touching up the image.

have you tried using the lighting shadows or darkening highlights option with photoshop?

I don't think I have even seen that option!

oh I think I found it ^_^..have both cs2 and cs3 but I still use cs2 atm.

Scanning dark characters sucks, hands down. I feel your pain.

I love the detail ya put into the furr... Absolutely beautiful...

Scan with default settings in Photoshop, then press ctrl+l to bring up the levels window. Move the grey middle slider to the left to lighten the image overall and bring the black slider to the right a little. mess with those two til it looks right (you might also have to use the white a bit). Then go Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast and bring up the brightness a bit if you need to. :)

so pretty!! um, for the scanning... the best thing to do, as far as I am aware, for subtle shades, scan at a really high resolution, much higher than you would think you would need, and then edit the brightness and contrast on it until it looks right. I do a lot of work with markers, and my scanner just kills some of my shades. Maybe get a good camera and photograph it instead? i dunno. but thats my 2 cents.

I think most scanners tend to scan lighter/faded. I've always corrected it by playing with the levels tool. Sometimes hitting "auto levels" will perfect it right away, though often it still needs a bit of tweeking.

He has such a cute and playful gaze and it makes him look very awake and ready for something. That is such a brilliant little painting. You are always able to put so much details in such a tight space. I'm amazed!

scanning help...well, for me I have a clarify setting in my paint prograhm and also setting it darker with stronger contrast usualy fixes the problem.
