First art for me of 2014! I'm trying to get back into the swing of things now that the ice on the roads has melted and winter is starting to give way to spring. Did a few things different from my usual techniques with this and I've been practicing a little with digital art but in the end I went back to my good ol' pencils for this one (for the most part).

So why is Rune reading a book in a tree? Rune is a horrible tree climber so she probably got stuck up there after Dalken or someone else very tall put her up in the branches one way or another and she just so happened to be carrying a book at the time. Hopefully someone will bring her a ladder to help her down but not before she's done reading!
