This is a really relaxing looking peace, Pash. Like something you'd find in a hospital or a dentist's waiting room. This time of day this is showing is real calm. I feel as though if I were feeling sick, I could stare at this peace and feel better. The whole horizon is beautiful, the way the shadows in the lake shimmer is a real nice touch, well I say touch, I bet that took some time to do.. again, that might just be me. If you ever do something fundraising related again, I think this one could prove well.
Okay enough putting it off. Those wings! Dude, those look really well done! Each feather looks like you put the right amount of time it needed and deserved. The way they arch mid-flight looks so beautiful man, very realistic looking. The way each feather shadows over another, love it! I also enjoy how you added a bit of a 'dust' look to them(me know no art jargon). As in, that bird has been around, and shows, it gives off a natural feel. I'm really liking the little to no line in some of these, I mean it's an essential part to art, but the way you so greatly define the scenery, you don't really need em'.
The overall feel of this is relaxing, calm, and personally, therapeutic. This stuff isn't poor, it's why we all love the stuff you submit, it's beautiful!

Thanks Mike; at first it was just going to be the bird zoomed in, but after a while I found myself stuck on trying to detail that thing realistically. So I made the canvas wider and decided to play around with scenery. It does look like one of those pieces you'd find in a waiting room or something. I felt bad about this picture before because it just looked so plain and pale. It really wasn't anywhere close to being done. But I, again, just really wanted to upload something. I'm glad you like those wings btw. They were bit of a bugger at first, but after getting started with one feather in the right place the rest seem to just come together. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement on this. It's always greatly appreciated.
