One side effect of digging for cheap vinyl, is a lot of records that end up looking good in the bargain bin are absolutely thrashed when you finally do a needle drop. I have a dozen or so LPs in this condition, and so I figured why not put them to some use.. and with BLFC's convention theme what it is this year, I thought of this... This is my first test, playing with different materials.  tweeko was my guinea pig for this one.

I had originally tried this with conte and pastel on the album, which looks great because it only leaves color in the grooves, and not on the dead wax between tracks... the only problem is to lock the pastel in place, I had to spray fixative the album, which pretty much washed the pastel down to where it was hardly visible anymore. So, this is acrylic on top of the original pastels. I'm going to make another of these tonight with oil paint on the vinyl and see how that works out.

I am not doing commissions for these... I'm planning mostly to surprise folks who are attending BLFC with them, so if you're going to the con let me know so that I can put you on my list of prospective folks to surprise.
