Yep, I got another plane. It's a Yak-54 from Great planes. When I got into the hobby this was the first plane I wanted and I would have gotten it earlier if it hadn't been for my poor piloting skills. I got it used at a swap meet yesterday and just spent the morning fixing it up. This isn't a normal YAK-54 either. This one has a system designed to reverse the pitch of the prop so I can fly it in reverse for a short period of time. I've already had an incident with this plane and it hasn't even gotten off the ground yet. I'll give you a hint and say that it involved that very sharp part on the front of it. Try to guess what happened. I'll make another post later saying what happened and why I have to find a part that doesn't even have a model number before it's ready to fly again.

I agree. This was actually my "dream plane" that I always wanted when I started. This was actually my first time seeing one and I just had to buy it. I'm the 3rd owner of it. The first guy who owned it used it as his practice plane in the ETOC competitions so it does have a few noticeable scuffs and glue cracks. The servos in this are the fastest ones I've ever owned or seen. I have built around 10 planes and this is number 11 in my fleet :) I can't fly it now because of the broken part that will be mentioned later but the preflight checks look good. If you want to know of a good plane to do some moderate 3D with, try getting an EPP pizza box flyer. I have one and it's taken so many hits and crashes in combat with other PBFs. The one I have flies indoors pretty well and also handles wind fairly well outside. It just can't hover well since it doesn't have a good layout for that type of flight.
I've always had in interest in that hobby and I've always loved controlling RC vehicles. I'm not really into planes and I prefer driving land vehicles instead. I've only had those cheap New Bright toy ones that break very easily. I've never had the chance of ever trying a hobby grade RC vehicle mostly due to how much they cost. Maybe someday will be my lucky day where I can afford to get into this hobby more.
I know how it can be difficult to get into the hobby. There are some good used cars that I've seen going for $200 with everything needed to run. If you do get into the hobby, I would suggest that you look at traxxas. They are the company that originally made my RC car but since then it's been upgraded as parts wear out or break. If you want to try driving one you can find somebody who has one and they're usually pretty friendly and easily approachable. Whenever somebody seems to be interested I usually offer to let them try driving it on the grass where it won't get damaged easily. Just be forewarned, if you do get your hands on one, try to slow down in the turns. I've done cartwheels and flips with mine when I forgot to slow down in the turn.
I guess the only way I'd regret it is if I loose control and wreak it within minutes of buying it. Like this http://youtu.be/x1cJD_XN61U XD
That was a bad case of driving. Most cars won't reach that speed or explode like that, but if you get an offroad car designed for bashing -purposely trying to push your car to the maximum before breaking- you can go over most obstacles and you won't break things easily. The mini e-revo (also known as the merv for short) is a good one if you have a limited budget. It can't do offroad as well as its larger relative, the erevo, but it's still a good beginner car. It's cheap to get, repair, and upgrade, and has a decent amount of speed out of the box. I think with it completely upgraded as much as physically possible it can reach speeds of 70-80mph but out of the box it will only go 40-60 if I'm remembering correctly. And just a tip to save money in the future, go with the brushless edition. You will want to upgrade the motor as soon as you start getting better at it if you are on the brushed. If you go brushless, you can use a 3s lipo and do some pretty amazing things. My erevo can do standing backflips if I go up to 6s lipos and mash the trigger as hard as possible, but I think the merv would be close to it but not quite able to do the full flip.
