My cat, Max, registering on my oscilloscope. Max is not amused by my antics.
I found that any large, conducting body (i.e. bag of salt water) was able to pick up enough of the residual field from the AC mains that the scope could pick it up. The scope reads exactly 60 Hz whether the probe is touching Max or myself.
Although slightly annoyed, no cats were harmed in the making of this photo.
