Someone else posted some awesome sharpie-on-skin art (can't remember the username offhand, but check my recent favorites ;3) and I remembered... this!!!
This is from, oh, 2003 I think? I was competing in Iron Artist at FurCon that year, and the mystery medium was SHARPIE TATTOO! The second they introduced it I was like "hell yes I'm going to win." I did!! Forget what the prize was, didn't really matter, this was way fun.
Details:
maui's arm! She was my audience-member model for the tattooing.
We were given a huge pack of multicolored sharpies, and 30 minutes. This was the one year (of... 5?) that I was in Iron Artist that I finished EARLY. I added a bunch of crap and put my signature in. This is my kind of medium. :D
Anyone want to teach me how to tattoo?

Exactly so! They start by apprenticing at tattoo shops; sanitizing needles and learning the tricks of the trade from the bottom-up.
They tattoo on grapefruits, if you make the grapefruit bleed juice you're pressing too hard (common sense sort of deal). They also have fake skin that can be purchased, but it's pricey and used more to get a handle on the different numbered needles and which ones for what kind of line you'd want, etc.
And they tattoo on themselves to not only make sure they prepared the tattoo gun correctly (usually on the palm of the hand, no ink used obviously) but to see how gentle they need to be.
Not gonna lie, I thought about becoming a tattoo artist myself for a while. My own artist (I have six decent sized tattoo's on my torso) is awesome and told me a bit about it.

So awesome. No wonder why you had one. I'm also jealous of your model; I love getting drawn/painted on.
I once convinced an ex to draw a dead tree on my entire back with black permanent marker. It was awesome, but I forgot about it and fell asleep. My pajamas were never the same again. But still good times.
You should upload much, much more marker tattoos.

Wow. You should give tattooing a shot.
First, you actually need to get yourself a kit.
Then ask around any of your locals if they are willing to take you on to teach.
If not, either ask someone who doesnt mind you practicing on them to learn the depth of how much you have to push the needle in or go to your local butcher and ask if they have some pig skins you could have.
Both are great practice.
If you cant do any of them, grit your teeth and learn on your own leg :)
