This is probably old news to a lot of you, but so what? There's been speculation for some time that this pony with the hourglass cutie mark is a Time Lord (there's even a YouTube-based fanfic video series based on the idea).
Then I saw this. It's a screencap from It Ain't Easy Being Breeezies, and it makes it pretty clear, IMO, that the MLP production team has caught wind of the Time Lord theory. If this isn't an Easter Egg for Doctor Who fans, it's the most amazing coincidence I've ever seen, ever.
Could this BE any more awesome? I love the way that MLP makes its adult fans feel welcome, and this is just one more example of that, I think. The only thing that could be cooler would be if our mystery pony got a handful of minor lines in a future ep, and they god David Tenant to do the voice-work.
At some point, I might sketch up an illustration of the title of this one, but don't hold your breath.
Also, I <i>believe</i> this constitutes fair use, since I'm reposting this screen-grab as a visual aid to making comments on the work in question.

Well, I've know of his existence for a while, and that people speculate on him being a Time Lord; I'm just posting here to point out this easter egg, which is a reference to that theory ^__^
Like I said, this could only be cooler if they got David Tenant to do some lines for Doctor Whooves in a future episode.

Do you read things before commenting? The description isn't even that long, man.
"There's been speculation for some time" <- indicating both that this character has been around for some time and that I am well aware of that.
Also, since time is this big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff, it's kinda hard to say how long the character has been there.

*sigh* what part of "There's been speculation for some time" is so unclear to people? I bloody well KNOW the character has been around for years and has been thought to be a Time Lord for years. The thing that blew my mind is this Easter Egg, here, not the bloody character's bloody existence. Next time you want to leave a comment poking fun at someone, read the description first, K? K :)

Unlike the other commenters I'll actually directly address the "there has been speculation for some time" part: DHX confirmed during an early interview that this character was intended as a reference to the Doctor from the beginning and before they knew anything about the fandom. They have certainly been getting more and more obvious with those references over time, this being the most obvious one yet, but it's been well-known for years now that he is a deliberate reference.
