This is my cat, Percy. I adopted him from a local animal shelter back in 2011 and since then he has become one of my closest companions. I am posting this because right now, as I type, Percy is curled up at my side comforting me as I deal with a flare-up of the mono I've been fighting for a month or so. Never have I seen a cat so affectionate. He greets me when I come home more lovingly than my dog does, and he "talks" to me when we're home alone together.
This post is mainly to encourage anyone out there looking for a new cat to consider adopting a black cat. Percy has been nothing but good luck for me lol! Our local animal shelter has a real problem finding homes for black cats in our area, so I just wanted to help raise awareness. In my area, they will not even allow black cats to be adopted in the month of October because they had several cats be used in evil rituals. Please give a black cat a chance for a loving forever home!
