To get a photo of a wild red kite this close is something I have been after for over a 11 years, since I went to university in Wales, and would watch these lovely birds soaring over the Welsh hills near Abersywyth.
The objext you can see the red kite reaching for, is some chicken that is fired up into the air for the black kites to snatch out the air, to show they can eat on the wing. And this red kite stole the show, by going after the food itself. Talons out reaching.
