I know- like haven't done enough of this already... XP
The guy I'm refering to is a 3rd string character from Macross:Frontier who sports the ever-present captains hat.
Technicaly Rick's Japanese name was Hikaru Ichijyo, but I might be right about this. I don't think anyone has refered to the captain by name Maybe he's not important enough to have a name? Or are they hiding something?! XD

Dug up an untranslated version of Ep 6 too. http://www.veoh.com/videos/v9567280.....648&rank=2
It feels like a season finale- and it's only episode six!!
Think there's a chance that the captain's Hikaru?? I'm almost positive no one's called him by name yet. Plus there's just something....
Gasp! And what if Vajra is made of PEOPLE!!!

I doubt he and lisa are off somewhere .So did watching the episode 5 give you and ideas? Like giants shopping in a mall buy little people or some giant goes to buy something and the sales mean scoops up a human aloong with the giant store items .Hey I just thought of a story .now wheres that New Text Document icon att.
If it is remembered, Misa and Hikaru left, along with Minmay, on the Megaroad, the first of the Macross Fleets. This was also back in 2012 (see Macross Flashback 2012). With the current series set in 2080, Hikaru and Misa would be rather old, at least late 70's or early 80's. Just a mite too old. Max and Miriya were (oddly) only in their 40's in Macross 7, but M7 takes place prior to the events in Macross Frontier. It's been stated that Frontier is a direct sequel to Macross 7.
That's all to the best of my memory. The Hikaru/Misa/Minmay like to the Megaroad, though, I'm 100% sure of.
Yours,
Mika

But wasn't that first fleet headed towoard the galactic core as well? Meh... I can't seem to wrap my head around the timeline. Macross Plus' setting was so different, that I always assumed that this was after everyone in the first series was long since buryied. But with Max and Mira... Given new medical tech, Maybe 80 is the new 50?? ^_^;; It's probably best to ignore Macross 7 anyway, eh?
Then in the plothole-filled Robotech Version... Does Megazone turn out to be the oh-so-lost SDF-3? I've heard rumors of an americanized version of Megazone 23- and that WOULD explain why the long awaited "Admiral Hunter" never actually shows up! XP Jeeze, when that guy gets lost...
Hey, that would mean those enemy mechs that attacked Megazone were Haydonites! That would make "Shadow Chronicles" make more sense, anyway.
(sry, I've made a hobby out of filling plotholes)

No problem on the plothole-filling. Sadly, it's nigh-unto impossible to fill in the holes produced when Carl Macek merged the three series into a single overarching series. Even the McKinney novels didn't quite manage this, and indeed, their handling of it was kind of creepy and weird, and honestly not well-liked by me. I loathe causality loops.
Megazone23 was used as a mid-point gap for the point between Southern Cross and Invid Invasion in the Robotech timeline, with the Garland motorcycle being used as a pseudo-prototype Cyclone. The mention of EVE and her inclusion was based upon the McKinney novels and information adapted from Macek's notes, and the decision in the Sentinels Series to include the singer Janice Em, originally created to be a counterpart to Minmay. More damn twists than a high-speed furball of a fighter combat.
As for ignoring Macross 7, sadly, this is a no-go, as it is considered as canon and official for the timeline. There's one to drive people bonkers.
There has been no mention of the initial fleet with the Megaroad thus far, and I must wonder if they're saving it for a particularly surprising twist or whether they would rather forget it ever happened.
There's also a possibility that with the dissolution of Studio Nue all that time ago they may very well be engaged in a battle for the IP rights to use the characters, possibly as much of a three or four way battle as there is over the Bubblegum Crisis franchise (Kenichi Sonoda has rights to the character designs, Studio Nue and the original scriptwriter (I have forgotten his name) are in arguments about ownership of the setting, and all of these are contested by Bandai.) From a little bit of research, there is exactly that occurring with Macross. Go fig.
There you go!
